The full experience
Our Indian Fire Cooking Class is a hands-on introduction to Indian fire-cooked food, built around bold flavours, proper spice and cooking with intense heat.
We’ll start with the foundations, looking at the spices, aromatics and marinades that give Indian cooking its depth of flavour. You’ll learn how spices are combined, how marinades are built and why ingredients such as yoghurt, citrus, ginger and garlic are so important when cooking over high heat.
Then we’ll fire up the kamados. Using them to replicate the intense heat and cooking style of a traditional Indian tandoor, you’ll prepare and cook tikka and skewers, learning how that fierce heat creates charred edges, smoky flavour and a juicy centre. We’ll also show you how to take these techniques home, whether you’re cooking on a kamado, barbecue or simply using your kitchen oven.
Alongside the fire cooking, you’ll make fresh Indian flatbreads and a punchy chutney, bringing everything together into the kind of food designed to be eaten hot, fresh and straight from the grill.
Once the cooking is done, it’s time to sit down together in our outdoor dining space and enjoy everything you’ve made. Share the food around the table, taste how all those spices, marinades, chutneys and fire-cooked flavours come together, and enjoy a proper meal at the farm.
Throughout the class you’ll cook, taste and get properly hands-on, with plenty of guidance from our tutor along the way. You’ll leave with a better understanding of Indian spices, marinades and high-heat cooking, as well as techniques you can confidently put to use at home.
