Our story
Millington Hall Farm was once a working farm, but over time its buildings had fallen quiet and many were slipping into dereliction.
When Marty and Jude arrived with their dog and young daughter, the challenge was finding a new purpose for the place without losing what made it special, its rural character, its landscape and its sense of escape.
The first Experience
One of the first things we did was plant a kitchen garden. Growing, picking and cooking with produce straight from the farm sparked an idea: perhaps food could give the place a new lease of life.
Drawing on years of creating events, we came up with The Wild Grill Experience, an immersive day of butchery, live-fire cooking and eating, ending with a banquet together in the Nordic tipi.
Looking forward
Cue Steve - a local barbecue podcaster who became our first Wild Grill pitmaster. Together, we turned Wild Grill into our flagship food experience, setting the standard for everything that followed: brilliant people sharing what they know, hands-on learning and seriously good food.
Steve has since built a fantastic team around the farm, including Tom and Rich, our butchers; Richie, our pitmaster; Ralph, Andy and Connor from our hospitality team; and a brilliant mix of visiting chefs, makers and producers.
That community spirit now runs through everything we do, from live-fire cooking and foraging to pasta, bread and chef masterclasses.
