An Evening With Mothers’ Ruin

Be guided through the world of gin by our expert Ginmaster, while you sample gins from around the UK & beyond. Enjoy a carefully curated menu of sharing plates and paired gins, and get stuck into immersive gin-making and cocktail activities.

After welcome canapés and your first local heroes gin, the Ginmaster will give you a potted history of gin, transporting you through the gin alleys of Victorian London and all the way into the 2010s gin renaissance. What makes a good gin, and how? 

Next up, you’ll be hopping in the 4×4 to the farm’s beautiful kitchen garden to pick your own fresh botanicals. Our Ginmaster will guide you through the herbs, spices and berries that flavour our favourite gins, and the qualities they bring to each gin blend. Keep them with you, you’ll need them!

Back in the event meadow, your next challenge is to make your own bathtub gin. Steep your own bottle of vodka in the botanicals you’ve picked, to concoct your signature compound. Take tips from the Ginmaster on the perfect blend. 

Dining this evening is courtesy of sharing plates with perfectly paired gins. Travel the world at your table and in your glass, with a carefully curated menu that celebrates local food producers and the finest spirits. 

To top off your gin exploration, you’re invited to compete in the evening’s cocktail competition. Create something special to share with the group. Will you go for a classic or a non-traditional mix? Are you a showboater or a subtle flavour wrangler?

Closing the evening while you make and try the group’s gin cocktails is our live entertainment, perfectly soundtracking your final gin encounter.
